GCC Blue Collar Salary Benchmarks Q1 2026: What Employers Are Actually Paying

Salary data from active deployment proposals across all 6 GCC countries for delivery riders, forklift operators, pickers, truck drivers, and more - with notes on what drives variation.

1 Feb 2026-8 min read

These figures come from deployment proposals issued by AK International between October 2025 and March 2026, across active placements in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman. They reflect what GCC employers are offering - not aspirational ranges from surveys conducted 18 months ago.

Every salary shown is gross basic in local currency, converted to USD at Q1 2026 mid-market rates. Accommodation, food, transport, and annual ticket are separate - these are employment income figures only.

How to read the ranges: Low is the market floor for workers with no prior GCC experience. Mid is the market standard for workers with 1-2 years of prior GCC experience. High is what employers pay for workers with 3+ years and relevant certification - CESA-certified forklift operators, LMV/HMV licensed drivers with Gulf records, WMS-trained senior pickers.

Delivery Bike Rider

CountryLowMidHigh
UAEUSD 490USD 600USD 760
Saudi ArabiaUSD 420USD 540USD 700
QatarUSD 460USD 580USD 730
BahrainUSD 380USD 490USD 620
KuwaitUSD 270USD 325USD 420
OmanUSD 250USD 320USD 400

Rider salaries are compressed at the top end in UAE and Qatar by the gig economy, where many delivery platforms use commission-based pay. Company-employed riders on fixed monthly salaries settle around mid-range. If you're operating a last-mile fleet and want stability over variable cost, the mid-range with a fixed contract is the standard approach.

Forklift Operator (Counterbalance)

CountryLowMidHigh
UAEUSD 520USD 680USD 900
Saudi ArabiaUSD 480USD 640USD 860
QatarUSD 500USD 660USD 870
BahrainUSD 420USD 550USD 720
KuwaitUSD 295USD 375USD 475
OmanUSD 285USD 365USD 455

Forklift operators sit 25-35% above general warehouse workers across all six markets because of the licence requirement. Budget accordingly. If you source a general picker at USD 560/month in Dubai and expect them to operate a counterbalance, you'll lose them within the first month when they realise the market rate for their skill.

RF Scanner Picker / Packer

CountryLowMidHigh
UAEUSD 430USD 560USD 760
Saudi ArabiaUSD 400USD 520USD 720
QatarUSD 430USD 550USD 720
BahrainUSD 370USD 480USD 630
KuwaitUSD 260USD 325USD 425
OmanUSD 260USD 338USD 425

Heavy Truck Driver (HMV Licensed)

CountryLowMidHigh
UAEUSD 680USD 870USD 1,100
Saudi ArabiaUSD 600USD 780USD 1,000
QatarUSD 640USD 820USD 1,020
BahrainUSD 520USD 660USD 860
KuwaitUSD 360USD 455USD 585
OmanUSD 390USD 468USD 572

HMV-licensed drivers remain in sustained short supply relative to demand across all six markets. If you need experienced long-haul or freight drivers, budget at mid-to-high and expect sourcing to run 7-10 days rather than the standard 3-5 - these candidates receive competing offers.

Building an Accurate Cost Model

Gross salary is one line in the cost model. The others: - Employer's share of medical insurance (mandatory in all 6 countries - cost varies by plan and country) - Annual air ticket: one return economy India flight, included in the contract by law - Mobilisation fee: varies by country, AK International quotes this itemised in writing - Accommodation: employer-provided housing or a documented monthly allowance in the demand letter

Request a written proposal for your specific role, country, and batch size. We provide an all-in cost breakdown - not just the salary line.
